the princess cut diamond
the most popular non-round diamond
The princess cut diamond has pointed edges and is typically square or rectangular in shape. When this shape diamond is being cut, it has less waste from the rough diamond it is being cut from, meaning a lower price per carat or a better value. An important factor when selecting a princess cut diamond is its length to width ratio which allows us to understand how square or rectangular the diamond actually is. Any length to width ratio or 1.05 or less will appear square to the naked eye, however, a ratio of 1.03 or less is advisable.
